Area Sales Manager
Job Description
Role Description This is a full-time remote role for an Area Sales Manager at Tata Capital. The Area Sales Manager will oversee sales performance for an assigned region, drive business growth across targeted products, and ensure achievement of revenue, volume, and profitability targets. The role involves developing and executing area-level sales plans, managing and mentoring a team of sales professionals, and building strong relationships with channel partners, distributors, and key customers. The Area Sales Manager will monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to refine strategies and identify new business opportunities. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines, preparing regular sales reports and forecasts, coordinating with product, credit, and operations teams, and maintaining a strong focus on customer experience and retention.
Qualifications
• Strong sales, business development, and account management skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding regional targets.
• Experience in channel management, partner relationship management, and territory planning within financial services or related sectors.
• Proficiency in sales forecasting, pipeline management, and basic data analysis to interpret performance metrics and market trends.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities to engage effectively with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Team leadership and people management skills, including coaching, performance monitoring, and motivating distributed sales teams.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setup and handle multiple priorities.
• Good understanding of retail and SME lending products, financial services processes, and regulatory considerations (experience with Tata Group or large NBFCs/banks is an advantage).
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
• Comfort with digital tools and CRM platforms to track leads, activities, and sales outcomes in a structured manner.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned area as required for client meetings, partner interactions, and team reviews.
