Job Description
The job description for an area chef of a South Indian quick-service restaurant (QSR) concept in Mumbai would include the following:
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of multiple outlets of the South Indian QSR concept in both mall-based and high street dine-in locations.
- Ensure adherence to strict hygiene standards and food safety regulations.
- Develop innovative and authentic South Indian recipes, while also maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
- Manage and train kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and other kitchen personnel.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring efficient utilization of ingredients and minimizing wastage.
- Collaborate with the management team to sustain the success and growth of the concept.
- Implement cost-control measures to optimize profitability.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to brand standards and quality assurance.
- Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency, productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain effective communication and reporting with the management team.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a multi-outlet chef for a similar South Indian QSR concept across reputed food brands.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of South Indian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Strong management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Proficiency in MS Excel for inventory management, cost analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills in order to effectively communicate with staff, management, and suppliers.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- High standards of hygiene and food safety practices.
- Multilingual proficiency would be an added advantage.
- A passion for South Indian cuisine and a commitment to delivering quality food and service.
Salary: The salary for this position is in the range of INR 11-15 lacs per annum, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications
