Join our team as an Information Access Officer!
The Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) is currently seeking applications for multiple Information Access Officers, to join the Freedom of Information (FOI) & Privacy section within the Legal Branch.
Roles may be offered as ongoing or non-ongoing for up to 12 months (with the possibility of extension), and can be located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney.
Remuneration: The annual salary range for the position is APS4 - $79,501 - $86,318 p.a., plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.
About the opportunity:
Working alongside other Information Access Officers you will manage a caseload of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests from Tribunal applicants and members of the public.
You will be responsible for sourcing documents relevant to a request and conducting an assessment to make a decision on release, working within the framework of the of Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 1982.
About you:
You will be self-motivated, and capable of monitoring and managing your own workload across multiple case management platforms. The Tribunal receives a high volume of FOI requests, and an ability to work productively and efficiently is required to ensure statutory compliance with FOI Act obligations
To be successful you will have:
Working knowledge of, or the ability to acquire knowledge, of the FOI and Privacy Acts, and ability to exercise sound judgement in applying this knowledge.
Attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records using case management systems
Strong verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated capacity to communicate clearly, accurately and respectfully with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated written communication skills, including the ability to produce high quality correspondence in a professional environment that meets the needs of the intended audience.
Sound organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work to achieve high quality results within strict timeframes.
Demonstrated research and analytical skills, the ability to use initiative, accept responsibility for personal development and work independently.
Desirable:
Previous knowledge of or experience in Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts.
