BBQ Appliance Technician – Gas & Electric Assembly
Ormeau, Gold Coast

At Southern Stainless, we design and manufacture high-end stainless steel BBQs and outdoor kitchen appliances under our premium Cookout range.
We’re looking for a hands-on Appliance Technician to join our production team — someone who enjoys working with gas systems, electrical components, and mechanical assembly to build a best-in-class product.
About the Role
This is a practical, workshop-based role focused on the assembly, testing, and quality control of gas and electric BBQs.
You’ll work across:
Gas systems (burners, valves, regulators, ignition systems)
Electric BBQ components (elements, wiring, controls)
Mechanical assembly of precision stainless steel parts
Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone with the right attitude and technical interest to build specialist skills.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble gas and electric BBQ units and accessories
Fit and connect gas components safely and correctly
Assist with installation and setup of electrical components
Perform functional testing and quality checks
Identify defects and troubleshoot assembly issues
Contribute to improving assembly processes and efficiency
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop
About You
You’re hands-on, technically minded, and take pride in building things properly.
You may come from backgrounds such as:
Appliance or whitegoods assembly
Gas fitting, plumbing, or mechanical trades
Electrical assembly or wiring
Automotive, marine, or manufacturing
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Strong mechanical aptitude
Interest in gas and/or electrical systems
High attention to detail
Ability to follow assembly instructions and drawings
Team-oriented with a positive attitude
Highly regarded (but not essential):
Experience with gas appliances or gas fitting
Electrical assembly or wiring experience
Previous manufacturing or production work
