Allied Health Assistant – Community Child Health (West Team)
Permanent, part time (0.5 FTE, 40 hours per fortnight)
Primarily based at Waitākere Hospital
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.
About the Role

We are looking for a part time Allied Health Assistant to support our dedicated team of paediatric Allied Health Clinicians who provide community based therapy for tamariki in the West Auckland area who may be living with medical, developmental and/or disability related health care needs.

The role of the Allied Health Assistant is varied in that it supports a number of different allied health disciplines – each with different needs. On any given day you would be responsible for setting up/tidying therapy rooms, managing/cleaning/tracking toys and equipment (including loan equipment) used for therapy, developing and making resources for whanau under the direction of the therapist, setting up and participating in group therapy sessions, as well as general administrative tasks such as filing, binding, laminating etc.

While direct face-to-face patient contact may not be frequent in this role, there may be times when participation in therapy sessions or delivering equipment to the home of the whānau may be required – but this would be under the guidance and support of the Allied Health clinician responsible for the overall care.

This role is based predominantly at our Waitākere Hospital site, with occasional visits to our North team to connect and offer support as needed.
