Air India - Dispute Resolution Lawyer - Principal Counsel
Job Description
Job Purpose:
- To manage litigations related to Employment, Consumer, Contract, Aviation and Other laws across domestic and international jurisdictions.
- This role is centered around resolution of disputes in order to reduce the risk and the exposure of the company.
Key Accountabilities:
Functional Activities:
- Handle litigations/arbitrations and other disputes arising out of the Company's business including but not limited to Employment, Consumer, Contract, Aviation and Other laws across jurisdictions.
- Draft and review pleadings and build legal arguments in consultation with external Counsels. Carry out legal research. Crosscheck the inputs of external counsels with independent legal research.
- Represent/appear for the organisation before Courts, Tribunals and Other forums.
- Coordination with lawyers, negotiation of fee arrangements with Solicitors and Attorneys at Indian and foreign stations and clearance of invoices. Tracking legal costs on subject/ department wise basis.
- Provide legal support for settlements, negotiations and other efforts for alternate dispute resolution.
- Ensure support for compliance with applicable laws and regulations to protect the interests of the organization.
- Weekly reporting of litigation updates and forecasting of risks within legal team and to the General Counsel (GC)
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.
