AI and Robotics Project Director
Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative AI & Robotics Project Director to lead our efforts in developing, implementing, and overseeing safety protocols for robotics and autonomous systems across multiple industries. Role Summary
The Director will own the overall technical direction and deliverables of the project with authority to define the technical requirements, test priorities, prototype architecture, safety logic approach, and validation milestones subject to CEO approval.
Responsibilities
Design and implement simulation models for robotic safety scenarios.
Develop safety-critical AI algorithms for robotic control and fail-safe behavior.
Collaborate with hardware teams to evaluate robot power supply systems and real-time control loops.
Analyze system performance using digital twin or simulation environments (e.g., Gazebo, PyBullet, ROS).
Create software interfaces and integrate safety protocols into robotic operating frameworks.
Perform risk assessment and root-cause failure analysis on autonomous behaviors.
Document system design, test results, and collaborate on technical publications or patents.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Company and your Supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Robotics, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
5+ years of experience in robotics or AI systems development.
Strong programming skills (Python, C++, ROS, or similar).
Experience with control algorithms, simulation platforms, or digital twin environments.
Familiarity with robotic power systems, embedded controls, or battery management is a plus.
Understanding of safety standards or reliability analysis for autonomous systems.
Excellent problem-solving, coding, and collaborative development skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with reinforcement learning or safe policy learning.
Knowledge of IEC/ISO safety standards for robotics (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 61508).
Hands-on experience with embedded real-time OS or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
Publications or patents in AI safety, robotics, or system reliability.
Experience Required
7+ years in AI, robotics, safety simulation, or robot power/control systems.
Expected Compensation
Annual salary + benefits
Pay: $140,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
