About the Role
Qubist Solutions is looking for an experienced Senior System Safety & Reliability Engineer to join our Aerospace & Defence engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in system safety assessment, reliability engineering, and certification activities for safety-critical avionics systems. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with international aerospace safety standards while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
System Safety Engineering
• Lead and perform system safety assessments, including:
• Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA)
• Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
• Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
• Common Cause Analysis (CCA)
• Execute safety analyses in accordance with ARP4761 guidelines.
• Define, allocate, and maintain system safety requirements and safety cases in compliance with ARP4754A.
• Ensure end-to-end traceability of safety-critical requirements across hardware, software, and system development activities.
• Perform safety and reliability modelling using ANSYS Medini Analyze (preferred) or equivalent safety analysis tools.
Reliability Engineering
• Conduct reliability predictions, analyses, and modelling to evaluate:
• System availability
• Failure rates
• Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
• Support Design-for-Reliability (DfR) initiatives by identifying potential failure mechanisms and recommending design improvements.
• Perform quantitative reliability analyses using industry-standard methodologies and tools.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace reliability and regulatory requirements.
Certification & Compliance
• Support certification activities with aviation regulatory authorities such as EASA and FAA.
• Prepare and maintain:
• Safety Assessment Reports (SAR)
• Compliance Matrices
• Certification documentation
• Ensure compliance with aerospace safety standards, including:
• DO-178C (Software)
• DO-254 (Hardware)
• ARP4754A (System Development)
• ARP4761 (Safety Assessment)
• Participate in technical audits, design reviews, and certification boards.
Cross-functional Collaboration
• Work closely with system, software, hardware, and verification teams to integrate safety and reliability throughout the development lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on safety and reliability engineering methodologies.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure safety and certification milestones are achieved within project schedules.
