Title: Advisor, Cultural Safety Humility
Salary: $88,+48 - $104,644 - $120,341 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours/wk, 8am – 4pm (core hours +am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Metro Vancouver Offices– Hybrid (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy. 2 days in office per week).

About the role
As The Cultural Safety Humility Advisor, you will be responsible for the advancement, development, coordination and execution of Cultural Safety and Humility initiatives, presentations and projects within Health Benefits and Services, as well as externally with health partners. The Advisor will provide leadership to embedding Cultural Safety and Humility into programs, policies and procedures within Health Benefits.

In External Relations innovation is our key to success and we practice it in everything we do. With substantial resources at our fingertips such as innovative workspaces, virtual meeting technology – not to mention a collection of diverse and smart minds – our collaboration sessions with Health Providers, and First Nations Partners and FNHA teams and Regions are both stimulating and effective. The result? Creative, out-of-the-box ideas that are changing the Health Benefits and Services.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

Education
University degree in health, leadership or a related discipline plus 8 years of relevant specialized experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Experience
Significant, relevant and recent experience in providing written advice, communication tools, briefings or published papers
Experience working with Health Benefits and/or Health Service Providers such as quality assurance, and/or issues management
Experience in maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships with First Nations communities, health associations, government(s)
Experience and knowledge of traditional ceremonies and cultural practices is an asset.
Knowledge Skills
Knowledge of the BC First Nation political and governance landscape and the current community, Nation and Regional contexts
Extensive knowledge of colonial history and contexts for understanding social disparities and inequities, including but not limited to the Indian Residential School System and Indian Hospitals
Understanding of current health issues facing BC First Nation individuals

The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
