About the Role

Use your lived/living experience of challenges with your own mental health, substance use or suicidality to model recovery strategies and provide formalized peer support to consumers currently accessing support in an adult inpatient mental health ward setting.
To support consumers staying in an adult inpatient, short stay unit using trauma informed care and a person-centred approach.
In conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, develop and run Peer lead groups and provide consumers with support in their recovery planning.
Provide consumers with education, information and support from personal experience of recovery and of utilizing mental health services and non-government agencies within an inpatient setting.

This is an identified vacancy with a genuine occupational requirement for the position to be filled by a candidate who has a personal lived/living experience of mental health challenges and/or substance use challenges. Candidates not meeting this criteria will not be considered.
