Job Description
We are looking for a Full-time temporary Administrative Assistant to support the Recreation and Athletics Department.
The Administrative Assistant to the Recreation and Athletics department provides administrative and compliance support for the recreation and athletic departments on both the Vermilion and Lloydminster campuses. The individual will work with other team members, ensuring the efficient operation of the department. This position serves as a key liaison between internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Student Life and Manager of Athletics in ensuring administrative tasks are prioritized and completed efficiently and effectively.
Oversee the efficient operations of the Vermilion Campus facilities, aquatic center excluded
Hire, train and motivate casual and student staff,
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with teams’ members and related departments including coaching staff, aquatics staff, donor relations recreation staff and other relevant areas
Plays a key role in receipt of funds and stewardship of donations and sponsorships working with key department stakeholders.
Oversee the production of related documents including reports, host applications and grants where required
Completes student athlete eligibility documents and requirements for the department.
Help with creating, posting, and sharing information on the college's intranet and assisting Lakeland College departments in using the platform effectively.
Support templated graphic design projects, coordinate meetings, prepare dashboard reports, and leads and trains on the department’s SharePoint site.

First point of contract for Vermilion Campus facility questions and concerns
Job Requirements
Minimum one-year post-secondary certificate in a related field.
Ability to perform and communicate in a highly professional and effective manner, in a rapidly changing environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with and process confidential information with discretion and sensitivity.
Ability to exercise initiative, judgment and problem-solving skills to complete work, take responsibility and make decisions based on solid analysis and interpretation.
Work effectively with Lakeland College employees, faculty, students, donors, alumni, business representatives and the public in a collegial, cooperative and respectful manner.
Proficiency is required in the use of word processing, database and spreadsheet, presentation, email, and electronic calendar software.
Experience in training and leading staff is a definite asset
Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Canva, Presto and Conf Link are an asset.

This is a Full-time Temporary AUPE appointment on the Vermilion campus commencing July 15, 2026. The current salary range is $48,817 - $61,524 and includes a generous benefit package and pension plan.
