Qualifications
Independent judgment and initiative are required in disbursing County funds, accounting for cash receipts, and maintaining financial records
Must have considerable knowledge of the NC Fiscal Control Act
Minimum requirements: bachelor’s degree with coursework in Accounting or Finance, or related field and considerable experience with accounting (preferably Governmental) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have valid NC driver’s license with clean driving record
Drug test required

Responsibilities
This full-time position serves as an assistant to the Finance Director and is involved in receiving and disbursing funds, reviewing financial records, preparing County financial reports to include the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and assisting with supervision and management of the accounting of County revenues and expenditures
The position also plays a key role in the preparation and maintenance of the County budget
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Finance Director and is evaluated for the efficiency and effectiveness with which duties are performed
This employee may act on behalf of the Finance Director in his/her absence
