We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Manager – Accounting Advisory to join our high performing finance team in the Midlands region.

Main Responsibilities

You will be the Functional expert within the Tarmac Group on technical accounting matters. Ensuring Tarmac results are reported in line with relevant accounting standards, providing business partnering support and coaching to the business to improve compliance with Group accounting policies.

Proactively input into the structuring of business transactions to ensure optimum outcomes are achieved from both a commercial and accounting perspective
Works directly with the business to advise on a wide range of complex accounting issues and technical accounting opinions and working with CRH Group Accounting team where required
Leads on the implementation of any new accounting standards and changes in accounting guidance
Working closely with the end to end reporting team to ensure alignment of accounting practices with most up to date Group guidance
Oversight of the preparation of annual statutory accounts for all UK subsidiaries
Oversee Tarmac Group consolidation process at period end and responsible for a number of key SOx controls within the group
Key role in managing group and statutory external audits
Oversee preparation of the monthly financial pack for the CFO
Manage the half yearly and year end financial reporting to Group
Also oversee operational treasury requirements and UK corporate head office companies
Coaching and developing a team of 7.
Your key stakeholders will be our Finance Director, Director of Group Finance Business Planning, Head of Shared Services, Business Unit Heads of Finance, CRH Group Accounting Team our External Auditors.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a fully qualified ACA / ACCA / ACMA accountant with an excellent grasp of financial standards and regulations.

You must have the ability to communicate with other areas of the business in an easily understandable manner when advising in technical accounting matters. You must also be able to engage, influence and build relationships with varied stakeholders at all levels across Tarmac.

You must be well organised, able to manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritise to meet deadlines. You will also be a team player, with the proven ability to manage, motivate and develop a team.
