Hotel Maintenance Team Leader - London

At Kimpton Fitzroy London, we are looking for a Maintenance Team Leader to join our team.

Reporting to the on-site Maintenance Manager we are looking for a Lead painter/polisher in the engineering department, you will be responsible for applying paint, stain, and other finishes for property walls, ceilings, and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.

Additionally responsible for other painters by allocating and organising jobs, ordering paints/materials, making sure that good level of stock is kept, cleaning up, storing paint, and painting tools and equipment in appropriate areas. And follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines.

You will need to keep a good communication line between all the other departments particularly with Front office and Housekeeping management in order to access the rooms to be painted.

As our Lead Painter/Polisher your will be:
• Able to apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, etc. to property walls, ceilings, and furniture.
• Able to conduct French polishing on various surfaces.
• Responsible for maintaining property colour scheme specifications.
• Responsible for maintaining and matching shades of particular areas using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
• Applying primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats.
• Removing old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting.
• Using proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury and clean up and store paint and painting tools and equipment in appropriate areas.
