Job description
Zonal Manager – Motor
Level: Management
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage motor insurance sales across the assigned zone and achieve the zonal premium budget
· Provide strategic direction and day-to-day guidance to Regional Managers within the zone
· Drive new business acquisition through dealer, agent, broker, and direct channels
· Develop and maintain productive relationships with key dealers and automotive partners in the zone
· Conduct structured monthly performance reviews with Regional Managers and plan corrective actions
· Monitor product mix, segment performance, and loss ratios, and optimise distribution accordingly
· Drive renewal portfolios and implement zone-level retention campaigns
· Ensure all sales activities comply with IRDAI regulations and company policies
· Track competitor activity and provide timely market intelligence to the national team
· Support Regional Managers in closing high-value or complex motor insurance cases
Qualifications & Experience:
· Graduate / MBA with 10–12 years in insurance, including 5+ years in motor insurance
· Demonstrated zone-level achievement in motor insurance premium targets
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead teams across multiple locations
· Good understanding of motor insurance products, pricing, and underwriting basics
· Familiarity with CRM tools, digital portals, and MIS reporting platforms
Key Skills & Competencies:
· Zone-level sales leadership and planning
· Distribution and dealer relationship management
· Team motivation and performance management
· Product knowledge and positioning
· Renewal and retention management
· Data analysis and MIS reporting
· Regulatory compliance adherence
