Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the yard and ensuring efficient operations within our warehouse environment. This position involves various tasks related to shipping and receiving, heavy equipment operation, and general yard maintenance. The Yard Worker will be responsible for facilitating the smooth flow of materials and products, contributing to a safe and organized work environment. Must have flexible schedule and work weekends.
Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, and trucks for loading and unloading materials.
Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Execute order picking efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and warehouse management systems.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized yard by performing routine maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and support overall warehouse operations.
Engage in heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
Follow all safety guidelines and regulations while operating machinery or handling materials.
Qualifications
Previous experience in warehouse distribution or similar roles is preferred.
Familiarity with order picking processes and shipping & receiving procedures is essential.
Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, and trucks is highly desirable.
Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the shift.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety practices in a warehouse environment.
A background in construction or related fields can be beneficial for this role.
Must have a valid drivers license for deliveries.
