Job Summary
We are seeking a technically skilled and quality-focused Winding Engineer to oversee and execute the winding processes for power and distribution transformers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in HV and LV winding techniques, insulation procedures, and process optimization to ensure the mechanical and electrical integrity of the transformer.
Qualifications
• Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–7+ years of hands-on experience in transformer coil winding (preferably in power or distribution transformers)
Key Responsibilities
Winding Operations:
• Plan and supervise the HV and LV coil winding process (layer, disc, helical, spiral, or foil winding types).
• Select appropriate conductors (copper/aluminum), insulation materials, and winding machines based on design specifications.
• Ensure correct tension, turn count, interlayer insulation, and alignment as per winding drawings.
Process Control Quality
• Verify that all winding operations comply with technical drawings, quality standards, and work instructions.
• Perform in-process inspections to detect and correct winding defects such as misalignment, incorrect layering, or insulation damage.
• Coordinate with the QA team to ensure electrical clearance, winding resistance, and insulation tests are within acceptable limits.Documentation Reporting
• Maintain winding logs, coil data sheets, and process records.
• Report any non-conformities and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure traceability of materials and adherence to production schedules.
Coordination Continuous Improvement
• Work closely with design, core assembly, and testing teams to ensure smooth integration of windings into CCA (Core Coil Assembly).
