About the Role
As a Whānau Support Worker, you will support Public Health Nurses to deliver child health services to children, young people, and their whānau across homes, schools, and the wider community. You will undertake tasks across a range of health programmes, including home visits, clinic support, and follow-up care for whānau, working within defined guidelines. You will also provide timely communication and contribute to coordinated care with schools, health professionals, and community providers.
The role requires accurate documentation and data entry, a strong focus on safe practice, and a commitment to supporting equitable health outcomes for the communities you serve

About You
You are a dedicated and community-minded professional who is passionate about improving health and wellbeing outcomes for tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau. You bring a collaborative approach, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse communities while supporting equitable access to services.
You will bring:
Experience working with children, young people, and whānau in community, health or social service settings
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with whānau and stakeholders
A good understanding of community health, equity, and the impacts of social determinants on wellbeing
Solid organisational skills, including accurate documentation and data entry
A full, clean NZ driver licence and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
