Water Truck Driver
Please note: this is NOT just dust control and compaction, but also testing and managing moisture levels of plant materials (trees, shrubs, grass, etc.) which involves getting out of the seat, testing soil, pulling hose, etc.
Harco Developments has been operating for over 30 years and is one of Calgary's leading landscape construction contractors providing the market with construction services in the building and maintenance of entry features, boulevards, parks, storm ponds, sports fields, and other green spaces within new communities on behalf of our clients.
We are currently looking for an experienced Class 3 Driver with experience operating a Water Truck and watering plant material (trees, shrubs, grass) for our commercial landscaping operations.
Successful applicants will have a Class 3Q license and be able to provide a clean 3-Year Commercial Drivers Abstract.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Reliably inspect the health and moisture levels of plant material on new and established sites
Water plant material appropriately to encourage establishment and growth
Communicate with your supervisor throughout the day to relay information including plans, location, progress, and any problems that arise
Work independently and follow instructions with integrity
Perform labour intensive tasks and be willing to get your hands dirty
Weekend work is mandatory
SCHEDULE: MONDAY-SATURDAY FROM 7:00AM TO 6:00PM
Experience and Qualifications:
Class 3Q License with a clean driving record (3-Year Commercial Drivers Abstract)
A thorough understanding of the appropriate operation of a Class 3 vehicle, including pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
Experience in a role where you were responsible for the health and maintenance of trees and shrubs including testing and adjusting soil moisture levels at the root ball
Experience in the field of commercial landscape maintenance including planting trees, shrubs and grasses is an asset
