Warehouse & Inventory Controller Team Leader
Job Description
As a key member of the warehouse operation, you will oversee the receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of customer goods while ensuring stock accuracy, maintaining excellent service standards, and driving team performance.
The Role
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of 3–6 warehouse colleagues and ensuring daily warehouse activities are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. You will also act as a key holder and the primary point of contact during your shift.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support a team to achieve daily and weekly operational KPIs.
Ensure inventory records are accurate and warehouse systems remain up to date.
Manage goods receipt, stock control, perpetual stock checks, and inventory movements.
Raise work orders to maintain customer stock levels.
Oversee picking, packing, and dispatch operations.
Coordinate courier, logistics, and external storage requirements.
Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally via telephone, email, and in person.
Liaise with internal departments to fulfil inventory requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations.
Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, and company procedures.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, security, and workplace organisation. Provide effective shift handovers and communicate operational updates.

Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience working within warehouse operations.
Supervisory or team leadership experience.
Strong inventory control and stock management skills.
Good organisational and planning abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and inventory management systems.
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
