Responsibilities
● Take a brief to grasp team’s needs and specifications.
● Performing the full range of editing works from splicing, to sound balancing, to color correction and color grading.
● Review the script to better understand the video production requirements.
● Editing raw footage content and cutting video sequences to ensure that concepts are translated effectively.
● Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film.
● Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects.
● Create rough and final cuts.
● Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process.
● Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
Requirements and skills
● Proven work experience as a Video Editor (2-3 years).
● Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut).
● Carry out online editing and finalizing technical aspects such as correcting faulty footage, grading and coloring and adding special effects.
● Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
● Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity.
● Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing.
● Creative mind and storytelling skills.
● Degree in film studies, cinematography or related field.
