Job type: Self employed contractor (full time or part time)
Pay: £600 - £1000 per week
Typical start time: Around 9:00 am
Vehicle: Own van required can also refer a vehicle hire company with good rates
About the role
We are recruiting reliable owner van drivers to collect, transport and redeploy shared bikes and scooters across North, West, South West and Central London
You will use a driver app to accept jobs, travel to collection locations, safely load and secure bikes or scooters in your van, then deliver them to our Tottenham Hale Service Centre. You may also collect deployment bikes from the depot and return them to service across London.
What a typical day looks like
Start retrieval collections at around 9:00 am, or earlier where possible
Spend around two hours collecting bikes from Central London and working outwards
Build a worthwhile load before travelling to Tottenham Hale
Drop off all retrieval bikes at the depot
Arrive after 10:30 am where possible to collect deployment bikes
Complete deployment jobs before returning to retrieval work
In the afternoon, begin with the furthest outstanding retrievals
Work back towards Tottenham Hale while collecting additional bikes
Repeat the retrieval, depot drop off and deployment cycle throughout the day
Complete final deployment jobs that are close to your route home
Every journey should have a purpose. Drivers should aim to avoid travelling with an empty or nearly empty van wherever practical.
Key responsibilities
Accept and manage collection tasks through the driver app
Collect bikes and scooters from assigned locations
Load, secure, transport and unload equipment safely
Plan efficient routes around traffic, task locations and depot timings
Reduce unnecessary empty journeys
Follow collection, depot and deployment instructions
Complete retrieval and deployment tasks accurately
Report delays, access problems, damaged equipment or other operational issues
Maintain professional conduct and strong safety standards
Share practical feedback on routes, delays and process improvements

Driver requirements
Full UK driving licence
Proof of the right to work in the UK
Valid DBS check
Own a suitable van (Electrict vans preferred but not required)
Smartphone with mobile data
Confidence driving across Central and West London
Ability to safely load and unload multiple bikes and scooters
Strong route planning and time management skills
Previous experience in courier work, collections, transport, logistics or multi drop driving is useful but not essential.
Preferred vehicles
We are particularly interested in drivers with larger vans, including:
Long wheelbase Ford Transit (or similar)
Mercedes Sprinter (or similar)
Luton van
Other large vans with suitable load space
Electrict vans preferred but not require
Larger vans are preferred because they can carry more bikes per journey and reduce the number of depot trips required.
Pay: £600.00-£1,000.00 per week
