Job Description
ELECTRO MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (BHS) BAGGAGE HANDLING SYSTEMS ICA
Job purpose statement • Electro / Mechanical maintenance activities on site
Scope • Maintenance (electrical and mechanical) activities on site as scoped on
Qualification and abilities :
• Middle level of technical education (Newly trained or qualified)
• Ability to perform mechanical related preventive and corrective maintenance activities on site.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and use electrical measuring equipment.
Responsibilities • Solve errors on mechanical / electrical field in automated handling systems.
• Carry out mechanical corrective and preventive maintenance
List of key activities • Perform preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance tasks. For example: defect drives, repair belts.
• Respond to callouts, error notifications, alarms, warnings and complaints.
• Reset error- and alarm notifications when solved.
• Controlling baggage flows (jam busting if necessary) and correcting mechanical flow disturbances.
• Quick respond to failures.
Electrical requirements- daily tasks
• Responsible to follow the preventative maintenance program for the equipment.
• Follow maintenance documentation and electrical schematics to ensure equipment is maintained accordingly to TFM recommendation.
• Clean the equipment and electrical supply panels (LV) by removing covers and under guarding.
• Replace electrical components when required.
• Repair electrical components when required.
• Ensure the BHS system is free from debris and dust.
• Attend to electrical problems during operations and returning to the PM plan after correcting operational flow.
• Ensure BHS system is in a good condition daily.
Tools:
• Hand tools
• Multi meter
Mechanical requirements - daily task:
• Responsible to follow the preventative maintenance program for the equipment.
• Follow maintenance documentation to ensure equipment is maintained accordingly to TFM recommendation.
• Clean the equipment by removing covers and under guarding.
• Tracking of conveyor belts.
• Replace mechanical components when required.
• Repair mechanical components when required.
Ensure the BHS system is free from debris and dust.
