The Plumber on an oil ship is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems to ensure smooth operation of water, drainage, and industrial fluid systems onboard.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, inspect, and repair pipelines, valves, and fittings onboard
• Maintain freshwater, sewage, and drainage systems
• Detect leaks, blockages, and system faults, and fix them promptly
• Read and interpret technical drawings and piping layouts
• Ensure proper functioning of pumps and plumbing-related equipment
• Follow safety standards and offshore regulations at all times
• Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams
Skills Required:
• Strong knowledge of industrial plumbing systems
• Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging environments
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protective equipment
Experience:
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in offshore, marine, or industrial plumbing preferred
