Role Summary
As the Lead Hand, you will oversee daily painting operations on active job sites, coordinate union crews, ensure safety and quality standards are met, and work closely with the site supervisor or project manager. You are a working lead who sets the pace, keeps the team productive, and ensures all finishes meet Campos Painting’s high standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a crew of union painters on commercial and residential sites
Interpret project drawings, specs, and scope documents
Assign daily tasks and ensure production timelines are met
Perform and inspect surface preparation, priming, painting, and finishing
Ensure all health safety procedures are followed (incl. ladder, lift use, WHMIS)
Liaise with site supervisors, GCs, and project managers
Track material usage and minimize waste
Report progress and issues daily to the office or PM
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years’ experience in painting, including 1+ years as a Lead Hand or Foreman
Active member of a recognized painters union (e.g., IUPAT or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of coatings, surface prep, masking, and application methods
Able to lead by example and maintain a positive, productive crew
Comfortable reading drawings and interpreting site instructions
Strong communication and time management skills
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including early mornings or evenings
Assets
Certification in Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platforms, WHMIS
Experience with airless spray equipment and specialty coatings
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract, Casual
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
