Responsibilities:
• Writing Accurate Market Updates: Produce timely and engaging market updates focused on the US financial markets, covering equities, economy, commodities, forex, and macroeconomic developments.
• Analyzing Economic Data: Interpret key US economic data, including inflation releases, labor market indicators, and other high-impact reports that drive market sentiment.
• Covering Federal Reserve Policy: Provide clear and concise coverage of Federal Reserve policy, including FOMC meetings, speeches, minutes, and their implications for markets.
• Research and Synthesis: Research and synthesize information from credible sources, including press releases, SEC filings, earnings reports, economic data, and sell-side research.
• Collaboration with Editors: Work closely with editors to ensure analytical accuracy, strong narrative flow, and alignment with editorial standards and deadlines.
• Streamlining Workflows: Utilize AI tools to streamline workflows while maintaining human insight, judgment, and journalistic quality.
• Monitoring Real-time Markets: Monitor real-time market movements and news flow to produce fast, relevant updates for a US audience across all asset classes.
Requirements:
• Financial Journalism Experience: At least 5 years of experience in financial journalism or markets-focused writing, ideally covering US equities and macroeconomics.
• English Proficiency: Native-level English proficiency with exceptional writing, editing, and headline-crafting abilities.
• US Financial Markets Expertise: Deep understanding of the US financial markets, including equities, bonds, commodities, FX, and the broader macro landscape.
• Breaking News: A track record of breaking news and building trusted, high-level sources.
• Federal Reserve Policy: Strong grasp of Federal Reserve policy, FOMC communication, and how economic data influences market pricing.
• Complex Developments: Ability to translate complex market developments, data releases, and policy shifts into clear, engaging, reader-friendly narratives.
• Sharp Analytical Skills: Sharp analytical skills and a rigorous approach to accuracy, sourcing, and fact-checking.
• Availability: Availability to work US market hours (8 AM ET-5 PM ET) and willingness to work outside of these hours to cover major market developments.
• Ai Tools Familiarity: Familiarity with AI tools as part of the content workflow, while maintaining human judgment and editorial quality.
