We’re looking for a TTM Planner to join our Mount Wellington team. You’ll lead the design and assessment of Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), helping our projects run safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard out on the network.

As a TTM Planner, you’ll work alongside our TTM Technical Services team to produce high‑quality TTM designs in line with CoPTTM, NZGTTM and Fulton Hogan requirements. You’ll partner closely with internal and external clients, road controlling authorities (RCAs), subcontractors and project teams to develop, submit and support TMPs from concept through to approval. One day you might be leading engaging conversations with stakeholders: the next you’ll be drafting risk assessments and drawing detailed traffic management layouts. Your work will have a direct impact on the safety of road workers and the travelling public – this is serious work, with real responsibility and scope to shape how we deliver it.

Facilitate all tasks required to achieve best‑for‑purpose, approved TMPs – including 3C’s conversations, design, upload and coordination with team members.
Identify, assess and manage risk within TM design and ensure TMPs are developed in line with Fulton Hogan requirements and industry best practice, with risks clearly documented.
Develop TMPs in accordance with CoPTTM, NZGTTM and Fulton Hogan requirements, including any approved variations and engineering exception decisions.
Produce traffic management plans using Rapid TCP and/or AutoCAD software, and draft risk assessment documents as required.
Communicate and escalate with the relevant parties (including RCAs and clients) to expedite TMP approvals.
Apply shared learnings from site delivery to refine risk‑based approaches and improve planning processes.
Drive efficiency and competency across internal Fulton Hogan teams, keeping TTM planning at the forefront of project delivery.
Provide expert technical advice and support to other departments, including input into tenders and TTM planning operations.
Manage the complete TMP process from request to approval for single and multiple activities.
You’ll also contribute to any other duties or projects that are reasonably requested.

Current Class 1 Driver’s Licence.
At least 5 years’ experience in traffic management design.
Experience in the civil construction or infrastructure industry.
Experience preparing quality control documentation to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications.
Strong leadership, collaboration and communication skills, able to work with a range of stakeholders.
High level of autonomy, independence and self‑drive – comfortable owning the process from concept to approval.
A safety‑first mindset with strong risk awareness and a practical, problem‑solving approach.
A proactive, “can‑do” attitude – reliable, hard‑working, and a team player who thinks ahead to the next step.
A general “good sort” who treats others with respect, learns fast, listens well and takes pride in a job well done.
