Job Description

We have a very exciting opportunity for a Designer to join a well known brand working within the Menswear Design team and reporting to a Senior Designer, delivering a dynamic, innovative but commercial collection. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a close-knit team that work well together and achieve great results. Experience working for either a retailer, brand or supplier will be considered.

Main Responsibilities will include:
• Researching and translating seasonal inspirational concepts and trends whilst maintaining the brand's DNA
• Design seasonal multi-product (knitwear, jersey, shirting, outerwear, jackets and trousers) providing flexible support across the wider menswear range as required
• Working closely with the Senior Designer and Menswear Design team, Garment Tech and Buying team
• Maintain efficient communication with suppliers throughout the whole design process
• Implement effective designs by setting up detailed tech packs to communicate styles to the factories, suppliers and wider teams
• Regularly present research, product direction and sketches to the Senior Designer and review the seasonal collection
• Responsibly manage workload to ensure the design process stays on schedule against the critical path to successfully meet deadlines
• Set up, maintain and update styles on the PLM system
• Chase in and log all protos, fabric sourcing and lab dips/handlooms and review with the Senior Designer
• Keep abreast of, and factor in, sustainable and responsible design principles where relevant to material and supplier choices

Person specification:
• Industry experience in menswear design
• Menswear design background with a good understanding of wovens, knitwear, jersey and garment construction
• Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator; working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook
• Familiarity with generative AI advantageous but not essential
• Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team
• Strong time management skills
• Strong technical and creative design skills
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
