Job Description

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) years of experience in skilled trades, event services, facility maintenance, or other technical services
Completion of trade school, relevant licensure, or certification may substitute for up to one (1) year of required experience
An equivalent combination of relevant education or experience may be substituted
Must possess and maintain valid licenses and/or certifications:
Florida Driver¿s License
Journeyman/Master Plumber License
Will Be Required To Perform Mandatory Emergency Standby Duty
Applicants with knowledge of building maintenance in a multi-trade environment on facilities, buildings and building systems
Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment
If your education was obtained in the United States, the County recognizes degrees or diplomas which are accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
If you have obtained education from a country other than the United States, your degree or diploma must be evaluated to determine the United States equivalency by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Service (NACES) or the Association of International Credentials Evaluations (AICE) at your expense
Selected candidates will be required to provide employment references and will be required to complete a pre-employment drug, physical and background check

Responsibilities
The Trades Technician IV position provides skilled work in the maintaining, installing, altering, and the repairing of plumbing components relating to potable water, wastewater, and septic systems
This position is essential to maintenance district as it performs a wide range of duties in the plumbing field which includes the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and water distribution systems that requires the services of a journeyman level plumber
This key position performs highly skilled multi-trades technical work specializing in one or more of the following areas: electrical, plumbing, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), locksmithing, carpentry, masonry, lighting, audio, telecommunications, building, grounds and landscaping maintenance, and other building systems and services
Interacts on a regular basis with staff, clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure highest level of service and work quality
May lead or supervise lower-level technicians or crew
Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the Technical Operations Supervisor or other designated supervisor
Performance is evaluated based on guidance provided to team members, quality of completed work, and achievement of operational goals
Duties may vary based on area of assignment

Maintains and repairs general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs, and drains
Installs, repairs, or replaces domestic hot and cold-water lines
Repairs and replaces steam to hot water exchangers for major building heating systems and pools
Repairs and replaces pneumatic steam valves, radiator valves, traps, and steam and condensate pipes
Repairs and replaces domestic hot water heat pumps, chilled water pumps, sump pumps, and sewage pumps
Installs, tests, and repairs all sizes of backflow prevention devices
Leads troubleshooting efforts and repairs steam, water, and gas distribution systems
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
Interprets and applies mechanical and structural blueprints to plan plumbing repairs and modifications
Performs other related work as assigned
Open availability to be sent on maintenance calls and assist other skilled trades¿ personnel when needed
Standard work hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work hours may include weekends, after-hours, and post hurricane response due to operational needs
This position is subject to assignment at any Facilities Management location due to project, task, or operational requirements

The Facilities Management Division is looking for highly qualified Plumber to fill the role of Trades Technician IV at our Central District Maintenance Office. The Trades Technician IV position provides skilled work in the maintaining, installing, altering, and the repairing of plumbing components relating to potable water, wastewater, and septic systems. Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) years of experience in skilled trades, event services, facility maintenance, or other technical services.
