Job Description
Tractor mechanic for New holland Dealership in Satara. Need Knowledgeable person , training can be provided to promising candidate.
-Should be able to communicate well with the customer regarding the condition of the vehicle-Should be able to give estimate to the customer regarding the repair work -Need to coordinate with dealership regarding the status of the tractor service scheduleKey Responsibilities:
Diagnosing and Repairing Tractors:
• Perform routine diagnostic tests to identify issues in tractors and agricultural equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Repair or replace faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, steering, brakes, and electrical systems, ensuring the tractor operates efficiently.
• Use specialized tools and equipment, including diagnostic computers, to troubleshoot complex issues and make accurate assessments of machinery conditions.
• Work with various tractor models and brands, including both older and newer versions, understanding the specific needs and design features of each.
Maintenance and Servicing:
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance services on tractors to ensure they remain in good working condition and reduce the likelihood of unexpected breakdowns.
• Perform oil changes, filter replacements, greasing, and adjustments to ensure the machine operates optimally.
• Inspect and clean various tractor components such as engines, cooling systems, and fuel systems.
• Maintain and check the hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and ignition systems to ensure the proper functioning of the tractors.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems with tractors, identifying issues quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Work closely with operators or farmers to understand the symptoms of the issue and gather relevant information before starting repairs.Overhaul and rebuild tractor engines, transmissions, and other major components when necessary, restoring equipment to its original specifications.
• Work with precision and attention to detail when disassembling and reassembling parts to ensure high-quality repairs and performance.
• Perform reconditioning of old parts to extend their usability, reducing costs for clients.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed, including services, repairs, parts replaced, and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure all work done complies with the manufacturer’s guidelines and safety regulations.
• Track inventory of parts, tools, and supplies to ensure that necessary items are available for repair work.
Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing repairs and maintenance on tractors.
• Ensure compliance with local and industry regulations regarding safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
Customer Interaction and Support:
• Communicate with customers (farmers, agricultural businesses) to explain issues, repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
• Offer advice on how to properly maintain their tractors to increase the lifespan and performance of their equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service by ensuring that work is completed efficiently and the customer’s needs are met with high-quality results.
