About the role
This role is responsible for the end-to-end management, quality, integrity, and reporting of the Victorian Integrated Non-Admitted Health Minimum Data Set (VINAH MDS), ensuring compliance with Department of Health requirements and reporting timelines. The position also supports several additional statutory datasets and reporting functions, provides stakeholder education and support, and acts as a subject matter expert in health data management.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management – VINAH MDS
Undertake data extraction, cleansing, submission, cleansing, reconciliation cycle for the VINAH MDS, ensuring Department of Health and internal reporting timelines are met.
Collect/extract, cleanse and submit data for the AIMS dataset as per relevant body reporting requirements.
Maintain quality control and reconciliation measures for VINAH.
Liaise with staff involved in front end data collection to ensure understanding of data and data integrity requirements.
Provide Subject Matter Expertise in matters pertaining to the statutory data collections as required.
Work with internal service providers and DH to set up VINAH MDS structures for new non admitted services.
Other Datasets and Reporting
Victorian Healthcare Experience Survey (VHES) - conduct monthly VHES data submission cycle, including maintenance of the process to ensure data submission is accurate and valid.
Discharge Summary Compliance Reporting – weekly and monthly internal reporting
Victorian Audit of Surgical Mortality (VASM) – monthly submission and manage provision of medical record for peer review.
Mandatory
Qualified and experienced Health Information Manager or experienced Data Manager.
Experience in managing a statutory dataset.
Excellent analytical, conceptual, organisational skills.
Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.
