Overview
We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems and network infrastructure across various sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Fibre optic cabling, low voltage systems, and telecommunication technologies. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to apply their technical expertise in a dynamic environment.
**Note**
1.) Need Class 5 Driver's license
2.) Ability to afford a white van and tools.
3.) Unpaid training provided prior to work.
4.) Must be a Canadian Citizen, PR holder or open work permit. Must be legal to work in Canada.
Duties
Install, configure, and repair telecommunication systems including telephony, Fibre Optic, WAN, and network infrastructure.
Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Perform low voltage wiring, wiring termination, and system testing to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Conduct site assessments to determine the best placement for equipment and cabling.
Document all work performed accurately in accordance with company procedures.
Skills
Proven experience with telecommunication systems, WAN networks, and network infrastructure setup.
Familiarity with telecommunication standards, Fibre optic cable, wiring practices, and safety protocols.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
Physical capability to perform manual tasks including lifting, climbing, and working at heights using bucket trucks or ladders.
Relevant certifications or experience in telecommunication installation or electrical work is preferred. This position is essential for maintaining reliable communication systems across our facilities and client sites, requiring a combination of technical expertise, safety awareness, and physical dexterity to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
Installation of security system including wireless cameras under supervision.
