Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Team Driver, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of freight across various routes. This position offers an energetic environment that values teamwork, safety, and precision. As a key member of our logistics operation, you will collaborate closely with fellow drivers and warehouse staff to deliver exceptional service while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. Your expertise in commercial driving and heavy equipment operation will help keep our operations running smoothly and on schedule.
Responsibilities
• Safely operate commercial trucks and heavy equipment to transport freight between facilities, distribution centers, and customer locations
• Assist with loading and unloading freight using forklifts and other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety standards are met
• Maintain accurate documentation for all shipments, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and freight manifests
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve logistical issues promptly
• Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities
• Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles and report any mechanical issues or repairs needed
Experience
• Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating heavy trucks
• Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Knowledge of freight handling procedures and shipping regulations
• Basic automotive repair skills are a plus for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues on the road
• Prior experience working in a fast-paced logistics or transportation environment is preferred
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and dispatchers
