Job Description
· Teaching according to the GICLM needs, abilities and achievement of the individual students and groups of students.
· Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress, attainment and behaviour of one’s students
· Providing or contributing to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual students or groups of students.
· Establishing classroom, laboratory, and field trip rules and ensuring all students understand and accept them.
· Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
· Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities
· Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
· Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
· Participate in ongoing training sessions.
· Attending school events, club meetings, and staff meetings as required.
· Representing the school at conferences, workshops, and other networking events.
· Coming up with suggestions to improve the Physics Department and general school operations.
· Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
· Maintain grade books.
· Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.
· Write grant proposals to gain funding for further research.
· Create projects designed to enhance lectures.
· Read and stay abreast of current topics in education.
· Utilize various curriculum resources.
· Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
· Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree – B.Sc. - Physics, Post Graduate and B.Ed.
• Five years’ work experience as IB Science (Physics) Teacher.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
