Responsibilities:
● Implement curriculum integrating Indigenous pedagogies and the Two-Eyed Seeing approach.
● Develop and implement engaging learning opportunities that align with the curriculum and Charter goals
● Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
● Foster students' personal growth, confidence, and self-esteem through culturally relevant teaching practices.
● Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to support student learning and well-being.
● Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
● Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of Indigenous education.
Professional Competencies:
● Bachelor's degree in Education.
● Teaching certification in Alberta or ability to attain.
● Experience in Indigenous education and familiarity with Indigenous pedagogies.
● Strong understanding of the Two-Eyed Seeing approach.
● The ability to use technology in meaningful ways for teaching and learning is an asset.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Commitment to creating a positive and inspiring learning environment.
● Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse community.
● Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
● Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of Indigenous education.
