The Position
This position will be overseeing a long-term portfolio of clients made up of businesses in various industries, ranging in turnover.
This position is still proactive and hands-on with the client base itself, but far less focused on ‘being on the tools’ when it comes to productivity and compliance.
You will oversee the delivery of tax compliance and tax advisory/planning to your clients by the team and will work with them to help them achieve their commercial goals.
You will be responsible for a team of accountants – managing general productivity and KPI’s, as well as training and mentoring alongside the Seniors and another Manager on this portfolio.
The key areas of focus will include but are not limited to:
Manage a portfolio of clients – first point of contact for all advisory needs
Manage and support a team of onshore and offshore accountants
Providing technical tax advice and mentorship to junior members and peers
Providing strategies to clients in relation to their business and commercial goals
Work reviewal, KPI tracking, WIP planning and engagement
Business development and networking activities
The Candidate
Experience in a similar Tax focused role is ideal – managing a team, working directly with clients and firm client base, giving support and mentorship etc.
The position can also suit a candidate looking to step up from a heavy Senior Accounting or Assistant Manager position.
6+ years’ experience working in AU Public Practice
CA or CPA qualifications
Experience mentoring Junior Accountants, their productivity and their KPI’s
Experience managing a client base and fee portfolio
Strong Australian tax background
Strong technical knowledge and ability to communicate confidently
