THE ROLE
Make a Splash with YMCA SA - Teaching Life Skills, One Stroke at a Time!
Do you want to develop key coaching and leadership skills whilst teaching a lifelong skill? Are you interested in joining an organisation that invests in your growth through our learning and development program?
If so, here’s your opportunity to join us as a Swim Teacher! Based in Fleurieu Aquatic Centre, you’ll be part of a community hub where you can help participants of all ages develop their swimming ability, develop water safety skills and thrive in fun and supportive environment. You’ll join a dynamic and vibrant team with other role models to deliver safe, engaging and high-quality lessons while ensuring our swimming program runs smoothly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver engaging and safe swimming lessons that build confidence and water safety skills
Support students’ progress through stroke development and structured lesson plans
Create a welcoming, inclusive environment that supports students and families
Adapt lessons to meet diverse needs, using patience, innovation and encouragement
Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the overall success of the Swim School
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE Y
Successful candidates will also have or be willing to obtain:
AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or Swim Australia Teacher accreditation or equivalent.
SISCAQU027 Teacher of Infant & Preschool Aquatics
HLTAID009 Perform CPR or equivalent.
RRHAN-EC Masterclass – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education & Care.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to multi- task, troubleshoot and work under pressure
