Job Introduction
The Restaurant Manager is at the heart of the operation, and our Franchise Owners are always looking for new talent to lead the teams that help the Subway® brand be the first choice for those who want to enjoy quick and nutritious meals.
You may currently be working as a Catering Manager, Store Manager or Restaurant Manager – or maybe you're an experienced Supervisor, Assistant Manager or Deputy Manager looking to progress your career. If you have management experience in a fast-paced retail environment, then we want to hear from you!
Main Responsibilities
Manage recruitment / selection / induction and training/development of employees in line with the Subway® brand's training requirements – you will lead by example!
Creating and managing the staff schedule and rostering, and supervising staff in their day-to-day duties.
Determining product mix, stock levels and service standards for the store.
Formulating and implementing purchasing and marketing policies, and setting retail prices within the Subway® franchise framework.
Implement in-store marketing material and POP in line with campaigns to promote and advertise the store's goods and services.
Deliver a high standard of service when dealing with products, sales and inquiries and catering to customer needs, including selling goods and services to customers and advising them on product use.
Checking in deliveries, order matching and daily banking, and maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions.
Prepare required paperwork in relation to stock and sales. Prepare employee pay and timesheets.
Manage cash balances and minimise wastage, and undertake budgeting of revenue and expenses for the store.
Perform inventory management and stock control including weekly stock take and reports.
Analyse the Weekly Sales & Inventory Report to improve the business.
Coordinate consistency across the store's price, product, promotion and delivery policies (in-store, online and delivery channels) in line with Subway® requirements.
Direct and undertake housekeeping activities such as maintaining restaurant cleanliness and presentation.
Ensure 100% compliance in accordance to Subway® and council guidelines, including retail-specific and occupational health and safety regulations.
Ensure safety procedures are followed to prevent injury.
Provide a safe work environment for employees and customers.
Promote and encourage a high level of customer service amongst employees.
Handle unresolved and/or escalated customer complaints.
The Ideal Candidate
Working as a Restaurant Manager in a Subway® franchise is a challenging role but one that is highly rewarding. The ideal candidate will have:
An AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (or higher), or at least three years of relevant management experience in a retail or fast-food environment;
Demonstrated experience leading, rostering and developing a team;
Sound commercial skills across stock control, budgeting and sales analysis; and
A strong commitment to customer service, food safety and workplace health and safety.
