Mackay Regional Council is seeking an exceptional Strategic Advocacy Coordinator to join our Executive Office and help deliver the advocacy outcomes that will shape the future of our region.
Working closely with the CEO, Councillors and Executive Leadership Team, you will build influential relationships, identify strategic opportunities, and help secure the partnerships, investment and policy outcomes that support Mackay's continued success and growth.
What you'll do
Drive Council's advocacy priorities and strategic regional initiatives.
Prepare executive briefings, submissions and reports for senior decision-makers.
Build trusted relationships across government, industry and community sectors.
Monitor policy, funding and grant opportunities that support regional growth.
Support stakeholder engagement activities, forums and executive meetings.
Research and analyse issues impacting Mackay's future development and prosperity.
What you'll bring
Experience in advocacy, communications, government relations, stakeholder engagement, economic development or a related field.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong political and organisational awareness.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and excellent attention to detail.
The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
