Our Nelson team are looking for you to come join us and help us make a difference in our Traffic Management space. We are currently looking for a Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) or a Traffic Controller to join our close-knit crew.

About the role
You will play an integral part in our traffic management team where you will be working on traffic management plans, managing crews and assisting other crew members on site. Along with your Traffic Controller duties, you will assist your crew with any other duties when needed. You will also make sure your team and the public are safe at all times.

Key duties include;

Overseeing traffic management plans and road safety for work sites
Inspects work areas to ensure compliance with company, government health and safety policies, and procedures
Ensure crews are deployed efficiently
Lead by example, driving Zero Harm through operational excellence.
Ensure all plant under your control is presented, maintained and operated in a professional, safe, efficient manner
Assist in the selection, coaching and development of staff.
Liaise with client and company representatives as required to ensure work is carried out to the client’s satisfaction and meets company standards.

About you
Along with your approachable attitude and your ability to work in a team, there are a few essentials to what we are looking for, but do not stress too much if you do not tick them all off, we are prepared to train you:

Essential:

STMS A/B ticket required
At least 2 years of proven work experience in a similar role including leadership experience with responsibility and accountability for staff and plant.
Formal qualifications are not required but an STMS must have;

At least a class 1 drivers license
Ability to work extended hours when required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Can demonstrate a thorough understanding of Zero Harm practices
Ability to influence
Initiative
Demonstrated leadership quality that empowers others
Able to display excellent customer service If you enjoy spending your day on your feet and outdoors, this could be the role for you.
