Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on complex state and local tax (SALT) matters, including compliance, planning, and structuring

• Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis of evolving tax regulations and statutes

• Represent clients in tax disputes, audits, administrative proceedings, and negotiations with tax authorities

• Collaborate with cross-practice teams on multi-jurisdictional and international tax issues

• Draft memoranda, opinions, and client communications on sophisticated tax matters

• Assist in developing strategic solutions to minimize tax exposure and risk

• Maintain direct client interaction and contribute to long-term client relationships

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a State & Local Tax Attorney or Tax Associate Attorney

• Strong background in SALT advisory, tax controversy, or related tax law matters

• Admission to the Illinois Bar required (IL Bar required)

• Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

• Outstanding academic credentials from an accredited law school
