The Opportunity:
We are currently hiring a full-time, permanent Stair Builder.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building custom stairs according to drawings and specifications, preparing materials, assisting with installations, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment while delivering quality craftsmanship.
Duties Include:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine project specifications.
Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and finish wood and other materials to build custom stairs and stair components.
Gather, move, and prepare materials required for production (includes lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials; heavy lifting required (100lb)).
Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions to maintain quality and efficiency.
Coordinate with the Installation Team to ensure all products and materials are complete and ready for installation. Assist with installations as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
5 years’ experience in Carpentry or related field required. Red seal carpenter or cabinetmaker is an asset.
Finish & fine carpentry skills required (i.e. trim, table saw, chop saw, etc.).
Valid Ontario Class G driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Strong knowledge of woodworking materials and techniques.
Ability to accurately read a tape measure and work from detailed drawings.
Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Comfortable working at heights and assisting with installations.
Willingness to work overtime as required based on seasonal demands and workload.
