Position Summary
We’re currently looking for a Staff Cost Accountant to join our team in Kings Mountain, NC.
This role will include work across multiple areas of accounting and finance at FSFT. Accounting and financial activities will include Cost Accounting, Planning & Analysis, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and other areas of accounting. The role also ensures financial compliance and provides support to other functions such as, Treasury, Inventory Control, Purchasing, Logistics, and other areas of Plant Operations.
This role will be onsite 5 days a week at the Kings Mountain, NC location.
Responsibilities
Ensuring compliance with financial transaction accounting and reporting standards and policies (e.g., general ledger, cash payments/collections, customer invoicing, and other related areas)
Cost accounting/budgeting (allocation of direct/indirect costs, variance analysis, budget preparation, and other cost accounting/budgeting activities as needed)
Review and analyze product level profit margins for accurate costing/pricing of products
Fixed asset management
Control/reconciliation of accounts and records (balance sheet, P&L, bank accounts, etc.)
Implement process improvements such as introducing Bridgestone best practices to reduce workload, reduce risk, standardize, and automate processes, improve data driven insights, and introduce new solutions
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in accounting/finance
Manufacturing environment preferred
Experience in financial closing cycles
Expertise in Microsoft Office primarily Microsoft Excel
