Responsibilities
Own the "middle-mile" of software delivery for GE Vernova's Grid Software SaaS — the path from a merged commit to a safely-running production workload — building, deploying and operating the cloud-native pipelines and runtime that product teams depend on.
Design and run CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) with reusable templates, automated testing, image scanning and signed-artefact promotion, and GitOps delivery via ArgoCD so deployments are declarative, auditable and reversible.
Operate production Amazon EKS workloads: cluster add-ons, autoscaling, ingress, IRSA for workload identity, NetworkPolicy and Pod Security standards, and zero-downtime rolling and progressive (canary / blue-green) deployments.
Provision and manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible — reusable, versioned modules for VPC, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, KMS and supporting services — with plan reviews and drift detection on production state.
Build monitoring, logging and automated testing frameworks — Prometheus and Grafana for metrics, Loki for logs, synthetic and integration checks — and define SLIs / SLOs jointly with product owners.
Drive reliability improvements and incident management: lead on-call response, run blameless post-mortems, track action items to closure, and continuously reduce toil through automation and self-service tooling.
Work on container orchestration, security and scalability for a global, multi-tenant SaaS — hardening the delivery and runtime so product teams inherit secure, reliable defaults by default.
Optimise cost and efficiency continuously — rightsizing, Savings Plans, Spot for fault-tolerant jobs, image and volume cleanup automation — and produce visibility so each team owns its footprint.
Collaborate with platform and product engineers, document delivery patterns clearly, and mentor on Terraform, Kubernetes and DevOps best practices, representing the Hyderabad team in cross-site engineering forums.
Requirements
5+ years of DevOps and / or SRE experience with hands-on ownership of production Kubernetes (Amazon EKS preferred).
Strong Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure-as-code and configuration management — reusable modules, remote state, plan reviews.
Production CI/CD mastery in Jenkins and / or GitHub Actions, plus GitOps delivery (ArgoCD or Flux).
Solid scripting / programming in Python and / or Go at automation-quality level.
Observability experience (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki / Elastic) and the SRE discipline of SLIs / SLOs, error budgets and on-call.
Working AWS depth (VPC, IAM, EKS, S3, RDS, KMS) and container fundamentals (Docker, Helm).
Security awareness — image scanning, secrets management, workload identity, admission policies — and the maturity to operate in a safety-critical domain.
Large-scale SaaS or critical-infrastructure experience is a plus. AWS / CKA / CKAD certifications valued. B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech in CS / IT or equivalent.
