About The RoleGrade Level (for internal use):09The Team: The Global Accounting Operations team within Business Unit Controllers is responsible for working with the business units across S&P Global for all commission related accounting in both the P&L and balance sheet. The team values collaboration and the ability to think critically while problem solving.ResponsibilitiesManage Xactlys Commission Expense Accounting (CEA) module.Work closely with division finance teams in the preparation and posting of the monthlycommission accrual and expenses along with related analysisDeliver timely and accurate monthly reporting packages and analysis on ASC 606 and accruals including support for quarterly SEC reportingResponsible for internal controls associated with ASC 606Oversee and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, manage account groupingsUses broader knowledge of financial principles and theories and the organizations to improve processesBasic QualificationsWhat were looking for:5-8 years of accounting experience with general ledger close, posting entries, balance sheet reconciliations and analysis experienceBachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance or related curriculumOrganized, responsible and committedWorking knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely present issues and ideasExtensive Microsoft Excel knowledge and expertiseStrong attention to detail and analytical skills (proactive problem solver) and an inquisitive mindComfortable managing the delivery of high-quality outputs with overlapping deadlines and tight time constraintsExperience with Oracle, preferredExperience with or willingness to learn Xactly, Alteryx and TableauMust be assertive to follow up on resolving issues, ability to multi-task in a fast paced and ever-changing environmentMust be able to work independently, be accountable for processes/tasks performed and understand when an issue should be elevated to management#Whats In It For YouOur MissionAdvancing Essential Intelligence.Our PeopleWere more than 35,000 strong worldwideso were able to understand nuances while having a broad perspective.
