Job Description
Design Mastery: Senior-level proficiency in 2D graphic design, typography, layout hierarchy, and environmental/retail branding
Software Tools: Expert mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) and Google Workspace
Print & Prepress Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of print production processes, color management, substrate capabilities, and vendor mechanical hand-off workflows
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Proven ability to work side-by-side with spatial designers, creative directors, and external production partners in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
As a Sr Graphic Designer for the Platforms & Devices team, you will lead the execution of high-fidelity 2D design assets, layout systems, and visual identity systems for Google’s physical retail environments
In this role, you will apply and evolve global brand guidelines across our hardware portfolio—including Pixel, Nest, and Fitbit
Sitting at the intersection of graphic design and environmental branding, you will combine an expert eye for typography, composition, and visual storytelling with a practical understanding of how 2D brand elements integrate into complex 3D retail spaces
Location: Remote (Preferred: Within commuting distance of Mountain View, CA or NYC for periodic in-person collaboration)
Visual Systems & Asset Execution: Lead the creation of production-ready 2D graphic assets, typographic systems, and visual messaging layouts for global retail displays, localized signage, and promotional fixtures
Brand Governance: Apply and extend Google’s global brand guidelines with meticulous precision, maintaining absolute consistency in typography, imagery, and color systems across every physical retail touchpoint
Spatial & 3D Integration: Partner closely with Spatial Designers to align 2D visual assets with 3D structural layouts, ensuring graphics seamlessly fit physical fixtures and architectural constraints
Print Production & Preflight: Prepare flawless, production-ready mechanical files for external vendor hand-off, with expert application of bleed lines, die lines, high-resolution standards, and color profiles (CMYK/Pantone)
Proofing & Material Quality Control: Collaborate with Creative Production to inspect physical material swatches, print proofs, and color draw-downs, guaranteeing print quality matches Google's premium design standards
Asset Operations & Versioning: Manage complex project asset libraries, maintaining strict version control and driving rapid, high-quality design revisions during iterative review cycles
