Main Purpose The Sr. Engineer Drilling (Office Support) is responsible for providing technical, planning, and operational support for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of CBM drilling activities. The role involves well engineering, performance monitoring, coordination with field and cross-functional teams, contractor management support, and ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Job Accountabilities
• Support the planning, engineering, and coordination of CBM drilling operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution.
• Prepare and maintain Basis of Design (BoD), drilling programs, and operational procedures in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Review well designs, drilling parameters, and operational plans to ensure technical integrity, operational feasibility, and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with field teams, drilling rigs, service providers, and cross-functional departments for the smooth execution of drilling and completion operations.
• Monitor daily drilling performance, analyze operational data, and provide technical recommendations to optimize well delivery and reduce Non-Productive Time (NPT).
• Support the preparation and evaluation of technical bids, tenders, contracts, and service specifications for drilling equipment and third-party services.
• Prepare operational reports, drilling performance summaries, cost analyses, and management presentations.
• Maintain drilling documentation, engineering records, lessons learned databases, and well files for operational reference and compliance purposes.
• Track material requirements, inventory status, and long-term consumable planning to ensure timely availability of drilling materials.
• Support the preparation and monitoring of Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) and assist in well cost tracking and reconciliation activities.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Well Engineering Policies, Standards, Procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Coordinate the closure of audit observations, compliance actions, and remedial work plans within defined timelines.
• Provide engineering support during operational challenges and assist field teams in troubleshooting drilling and completion-related issues.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of End of Well Reports (EOWR), technical documentation, and post-well performance analysis reports.
Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
• Strong knowledge of CBM drilling, completion, and well engineering operations.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for drilling performance optimization and operational issue resolution.
• Effective coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills to support cross-functional operations.
Qualifications
• Graduate degree in Engineering.
Experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in drilling operations.
• Hands-on experience in CBM drilling operations.
