Senior Database Administrator, Software Morningstar India Pvt LtdMorningstar India Pvt Ltd is seeking a Oracle Apps DBA to work within the Database Operation team.The Area: The Data Technology department is responsible for setting enterprise database standards and policies that are designed to protect the data confidentiality, data integrity and data availability of Morningstar information. The Database Operation team offers guidance and technical expertise in establishing database standards infrastructure standards, Architect solution (HA/DR), Develop detailed database infrastructure design, install/deploy databases, monitoring, Server inventory.The Role: The Database Administrator will assist in supporting and monitoring Morningstar’s Production Databases. This individual will help installing/deploying new databases as well servers as per the Morningstar’s product team requirement. This individual will help in standardize Database Administration including the operating model, practices, procedures, and technologies. This position is based in our Mumbai location.ResponsibilitiesThe Applications Database Administrator will clone, patch, and support Oracle applications in a Linux environment.Excel at working under demanding project timelines, while producing high quality work.Perform backup and recovery of Oracle 1+c and 12c databases using both RMAN and user managed methods.Perform performance tuning of Oracle database and E-Business suite applications.Perform installations and upgrades of Oracle database software.Perform Oracle R12 test instance refreshes (Oracle Apps cloning procedures) from production backups.Work with Oracle Support for system issues that require product support. Log service cases and follow up for resolution as required.Work with the onshore DBA to manage and maintain the application suite.Work with business resources to assist with system issues or walk them through product issues.Requirements- A minimum of 5-8+ years’ experience in Oracle R12 with at least 1 year of work experience in Oracle R12 12.2.x version (12.2.8, 12.2.+ or 12.2.10 etc.) on the Linux platform.- Must be very hands-on in Oracle EBS 12.2.x rapidclone (EBS cloning) procedures for refreshing test instances.- Must be very hands-on in using the dual file system concept of Oracle EBS 12.2.x- Must be very hands-on in using Oracle R12 tools such as adop (online patching tool), adadmin (AD administration tool) etc.- A minimum of 7 years work experience in Oracle database administration (11g R2/12c R1/1+c).- Must be very hands-on in Oracle database backup and recovery, database restores and duplication using RMAN tool.- Ability to perform Oracle database tuning (both SQL tuning and overall database tuning).- Intermediate level experience in Oracle PL/SQL database programming.- Intermediate level experience in Linux shell scripting.- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Oracle Applications DBA work. - Ability to work with cross-functional team members belonging to IT Infrastructure, Information Security, Network, Storage etc. in articulating and convincing Oracle requirements.Soft skills and educational qualifications- A Bachelors degree or above in Computer Science.- Easy to understand and detail oriented technical documentation skills.- Detail oriented, well organized and self-motivated.- A polite and respectful attitude towards team members.- A strong sense of urgency and adherence to project/task timelines.- Should be willing to work on some weekends (or) late night hours to support production maintenance tasks (or) urgent timelines.- Should follow Oracle DBA best practices set by Morningstar Oracle DBA tech lead (or) DBA manager.- Fast learner and should be able to take ownership at work.
