SQA Engineer - L2
Job Description
Role Overview
QAble is looking for two detail-oriented and experienced Functional QA Engineers to join our growing team. You will own end-to-end quality assurance across web and mobile applications, working on projects spanning Fintech, Healthcare, E-commerce, and other fast-moving domains. You will be expected to bring strong manual testing fundamentals, emerging Vibe Coding awareness, robust API and database testing skills, and sharp UI validation capabilities.
Location : Remote/Hybrid
Experience : 3 to 5 years
Key Responsibilities
Functional & Manual Testing
• Plan, design, and execute functional, regression, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and end-to-end test cases across web and mobile platforms
• Write comprehensive test scenarios and test cases from user stories, BRDs, and FRDs
• Perform compatibility testing across browsers, devices, and operating systems using LambdaTest and BrowserStack
• Execute cross-browser and cross-device testing cycles ensuring consistent functional behaviour
Vibe Coding & AI-Assisted Testing
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to accelerate test case generation, script writing, and exploratory test planning
• Understand and evaluate AI-generated application flows for testability, edge cases, and regression risks
• Collaborate with developers using Vibe Coding workflows — reviewing and contributing to AI-generated code artifacts from a QA lens
API Testing
• Design and execute API test cases for REST and GraphQL APIs using Postman and Swagger
• Validate request/response payloads, status codes, headers, authentication flows (OAuth, JWT, API keys), and error handling
• Create and maintain Postman collections, environments, and automated API test suites
• Identify discrepancies between API contracts and actual application behaviour
Database Testing
• Write and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity, data flow, and backend transformations
• Perform CRUD validation and verify database state changes triggered by application actions
• Cross-validate UI-displayed data against database records to catch data accuracy issues
• Work with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL) and understand NoSQL basics
UI & Visual Testing
• Perform detailed UI testing with focus on font attributes — font family, weight, size, line height, letter spacing, and colour contrast
• Use CSSPeeper, WhatFont, and browser Inspect Element / DevTools to extract and validate CSS typography properties against design specifications
• Validate layouts, spacing, alignment, and responsive behaviour across screen sizes
• Cross-reference designs in Figma/Zeplin with live implementations to surface pixel-level discrepancies
Reporting & Communication
• Log detailed, reproducible bug reports in Jira with clear steps, environment details, severity, and attachments
• Prepare and share Daily Status Reports, Weekly Status Reports, and Sprint QA summaries with stakeholders
• Author Release Sign-off and QA Sign-off documentation after thorough testing cycle completion
• Maintain Confluence documentation - test plans, test reports, onboarding guides, and QA SOPs
• Proactively communicate testing blockers, risks, and coverage gaps to project leads and clients
Required Skills & Competencies
Core Testing Skills
• Strong command of software testing fundamentals: SDLC, STLC, testing types, test design techniques
• Proficiency in black-box testing techniques - equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, decision tables, state transition
• Experience in writing, maintaining, and reviewing test plans and test strategy documents
• Hands-on experience with regression, smoke, sanity, UAT, and exploratory testing
Tools & Platforms
• Test Management & Bug Tracking: Jira, Confluence, Zephyr / X-Ray (or similar)
• API Testing: Postman, Swagger UI, REST Client
