Job Summary
The Team
The Youth Outreach Empowerment Team (YOET) CYMH brings together a dedicated group of professionals committed to supporting youth in care at high-risk. As part of this specialized team, you collaborate with social workers, youth advocates, Indigenous Elders, and other community partners to provide flexible, creative, and client-centered mental health services. This team thrives on collaboration, meeting youth where they are and helping them build connections that foster healing and growth. Your work directly impacts young people who may struggle to access traditional services, making a lasting difference in their lives.

The Role
As a YOET Outreach Clinician for Youth at High Risk, you provide life-changing support to youth in care who face significant risks and barriers. You meet them where they are, building trust, connecting them with essential services, and helping them navigate the transition to adulthood. Many youth served by YOET thrive because of the care and advocacy this role provides. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level in a similar subject may be considered.
NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
Experience in clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.
Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services
Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

Two years or more experience working with youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
One (1) or more years of recent experience providing services to youth whose behaviour is putting themselves and/or others at high risk due in part to their mental health issues, substance use, exposure to traumatic experiences, and other complex challenges.
Experience providing service to children, youth, and families with MCFD child welfare involvement, preferably youth in care.
Experience and/or training in a care team based approaches such as Wraparound Model, Attachment Regulation and Competency (ARC) Framework, Complex Care Intervention (CCI).
Recent experience providing mental health services for youth in high risk situations utilizing an outreach model.
Who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Metis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to one (1) day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This is a temporary opportunity until 02/06/2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.
